Exposição apoiada pela Cerrado é indicada ao Prêmio ABCA

A exposição coletiva "Atualização do Sistema," apoiada pela Cerrado Galeria, foi indicada pelo Prêmio ABCA na categoria de Melhor Exposição do Ano. A mostra aconteceu na galeria principal do Museu Nacional da República, em Brasília.

A curadoria apresentou cerca de 140 obras organizadas em seis núcleos e explorou a tecnologia como um mecanismo onipresente no cotidiano das sociedades humanas. A exposição incluiu desde obras tecnológicas, feitas com celulares ou equipamentos contemporâneos, até peças que utilizam materiais cotidianos, como bancos, funis e pás. Os trabalhos expostos eram do acervo do Museu Nacional da República e de empréstimos das galerias Cerrado Galeria (DF, GO) e Almeida & Dale (SP).

Instituído em 1978 com o patrocínio da FUNARTE, o Prêmio ABCA celebra a contribuição de críticos, artistas, pesquisadores, instituições e personalidades atuantes nas artes visuais brasileiras. Desde então, este prêmio passou por diversas reformulações e hoje é composto por 14 categorias. O processo de premiação envolve indicações e votações realizadas por todos os associados da ABCA, que deliberam e aprovam os vencedores em reuniões de diretoria. Com estas mudanças, o Prêmio ABCA continua reconhecendo e promovendo a importância das artes visuais no cenário cultural brasileiro.

A exposição aconteceu entre os dias 15 de dezembro de 2023 e 03 de março de 2024, mas é possível saber mais através do podcast criado pela Academia de Curadoria, laboratório de práticas curatoriais coordenado por Ana Avelar, a quem coube a concepção de "Atualização do Sistema". Exhibition supported by Cerrado nominated for ABCA Award

The group exhibition “Updating the System,” supported by Cerrado Galeria, was nominated for the ABCA Award in the category of Best Exhibition of the Year. The show took place in the main gallery of the National Museum of the Republic in Brasilia.

The curators presented around 140 works organized into six sections and explored technology as a ubiquitous mechanism in the daily lives of human societies. The exhibition ranged from technological works, made with cell phones or contemporary equipment, to pieces using everyday materials, such as stools, funnels and shovels. The works on display were from the collection of the National Museum of the Republic and on loan from the galleries Cerrado Galeria (DF, GO) and Almeida & Dale (SP).

Established in 1978 under the patronage of FUNARTE, the ABCA Award celebrates the contribution of critics, artists, researchers, institutions and personalities active in the Brazilian visual arts. Since then, this award has undergone several reformulations and today consists of 14 categories. The award process involves nominations and voting by all ABCA members, who deliberate and approve the winners at board meetings. With these changes, the ABCA Award continues to recognize and promote the importance of the visual arts in the Brazilian cultural scene.
