É com entusiasmo que a Cerrado Galeria anuncia a representação de Selma Parreira!
Selma é natural de Buriti Alegre (GO) e atualmente reside em Goiânia, onde leciona e trabalha com pintura, fotografia, instalação, intervenção urbana.
Sobre a produção da artista, o curador Divino Sobral reflete: "Desenhando um curso linear, o conjunto da obra de Selma Parreira coloca-se, já há vinte anos, entre os mais relevantes no panorama artístico contemporâneo do Centro-Oeste brasileiro. Essa linearidade, contudo, não implica em monotonia, mas se faz pontuando problematizações consequentes que emergem com o decorrer do tempo”.
Selma Cursou Licenciatura em Desenho e Plástica, na Universidade Federal de Goiás, em 1979 e se especializou em Gravura, em Guanajuato, México no ano de 1980. Professora da Faculdade de Artes Visuais da Universidade Federal de Goiás desde 1993, é Mestra em Cultura Visual e Arte FAV UFG desde 2010.

Selma was born in Buriti Alegre (GO) and currently lives in Goiânia, where she teaches and works with painting, photography, installation and urban intervention.
About the artist's work, curator Divino Sobral reflects: "Drawing a linear course, Selma Parreira's body of work has for twenty years been among the most relevant in the contemporary art scene of the Brazilian Midwest. This linearity, however, does not imply monotony, but rather punctuates consequent problematizations that emerge over time."
Selma studied drawing and plastics at the Federal University of Goiás in 1979 and specialized in engraving in Guanajuato, Mexico in 1980. She has been a professor at the School of Visual Arts at the Federal University of Goiás since 1993 and has a Master's degree in Visual Culture and Art from the FAV UFG since 2010.
