Paulo Pires é o novo artista representado pela Cerrado Galeria
Com grande alegria, a Cerrado Galeria anuncia a representação de Paulo Pires.
Paulo Pires de Oliveira nasceu em 1972, em Poxoréo, Mato Grosso. Atualmente vive em Rondonópolis (MT). Além de escultor é desenhista e pintor.
Aos oito anos iniciou, de maneira lúdica e autodidata, a confecção de brinquedos em madeira, e, aos 14 anos, começou a esculpir e comercializar pequenas peças.
Hoje, o artista também trabalha com minerais, como pedras de arenito e pedra-ferro, que coleta nos vales de Rondonópolis, Pedra Preta e região. Nesse processo, Paulo Pires desenvolveu uma técnica na qual o arenito é milimetricamente esculpido.
As obras , que o artista apresenta como séries temáticas - Desejos, Alma, Idade, Amor e Sociedade de Pedra -, são materialmente densas, cheias de movimento e volumes que revelam figuras que se entrelaçam.

Cerrado Galeria announces the representation of Paulo Pires
Paulo Pires de Oliveira was born in 1972 in Poxoréo, Mato Grosso. He currently lives in Rondonópolis (MT). As well as being a sculptor, he also draws and paints.
At the age of eight, he began making wooden toys in a playful and self-taught way and, at the age of 14, he began sculpting and selling small pieces.
Today, the artist also works with minerals, such as sandstone and ironstone, which he collects in the valleys of Rondonópolis, Pedra Preta and the surrounding region. In this process, Paulo Pires has developed a technique in which the sandstone is sculpted to the millimetre.
The works, which the artist presents as thematic series - Desires, Soul, Age, Love and Stone Society - are materially dense, full of movement and volumes that reveal intertwining figures.
